    Hello,

I have a problem with my website, maybe you guys can help me out.
I started my website 3-4 months ago.

When I'm checking indexed pages in Google, MSN and Yahoo, I get:
    - 290 in google - but only a few of them are good, the rest ones are very old (indexed more than 3 months ago). Should I still see old indexed pages?
    - 25 in yahoo and msn.

My question is what can I do to have all my pages indexed by search engines and maybe there is a way to get rid of the old indexed pages that don't exist anymore.

    My website

    Thank you

Okay quite common question actually. First of all what type of pages are these old pages? Are there new ones or they totaly dead for example: site.com/oldproduct2page.html
    site.com/newproduct2page.html
If that is the case use 301 redirect to make the old page goto the new. If the old pages are being totaly removed and no new ones will be replacing them either 301 the page to the index or a relevant page or else create a custom 404 error page with navigation to the rest of your site.

Now to getting your new pages indexed. First of all content is kind. Write content for all your pages. Google loves content and will index these much much faster. Than get links to the content. This is easier said than done but good links will get nearly any page indexed and ranked.

    Thanks visio,

Well, the old pages don't exist anymore. Good tip about 404 error page tho :) I'll do that right now. But is there any way to get them removed from search engines?

Probably your site is not indexed often enough and that's why old pages are still shown. Your site is indexed more often if it's well trusted by the search engines. Important news sites can be indexed houndreds of times per day but some sites only once per 2-3 months.

Your site is only 3-4 months old and probably still in the Google sandbox. This means it's not trusted yet.

It could also be that you have a dynamic site and Search engines might have problem to index such a site.

The search engines might not index pages that are too deep down from the homepage (more than 3-4 levels down). Create a site-map that points to all your pages if this is the case.

    Yes you can goto:
    http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35307

Be sure it is a 404 error page however. Meaning that your page is no longer uploaded or google won't accept it.

    Thanks Binko,

Actually, only MSN is visiting my site once/2-3 days. Google and Yahoo comes at least 3-4 times per day. But if I check indexed pages I see only a few.

I also tried using sitemaps, no change. I'm not using sitemaps anymore right now. After reading about sitemaps, I decided to not use those. Please correct me if I'm wrong - I'm not an expert in SEO.

Sitemaps are for large sites 1000's of pages. I doubt yours falls in that category unless it is an e-commerce site or something.

Google will crawl a site but won't index if the site lacks links. Get good quality links to each of your pages and they will soon get indexed.

My site is an e-commerce site. I have 300+ products for now and I guess I should have much more indexed pages. Ok, I'll try to get some backlinks. Any suggestions on that?

It is hard to get all your e-commerce pages indexed. I suggest writing good quality articles on each product. It will take time but is worth it.
Building links can be the hardest thing in the world or can be easy as pie. Depends on whether you got what the webmaster wants. That is why content is king. If you got the best articles on a certain type of products they will link to you over your competitors.

Try to create a sitemap to tell the bots about all the URLs you want indexed.

    Page like this:
    http://www.click-computers.com/-c-1_5.html?osCsid=4cba50adf8074a806638fae1ec8ac135
Get supplemental. First of all it isn't in our language. Secondly no content and third the page is dynamic. Try changing to a little more static with some keywords.
