The thing is that i have hired a Seo guy who will do onpage optimization of my website..and he will be doing that as a free lancer. Now wht if some days he plans to steal my website by changing its password. is there any way to prevent this from happening or fail safe method to undo theft.. Thanx Vaibhav
When the guy is done, just change any passwords that you gave him. If you think hte person you are dealing with is capable of anything malicious, you shouldn't be dealing with him. On page SEO is not very hard to grasp, especially since you can install All In One SEO plug in to do the individual page optimizations. After that, just make sure your images aren't too big, add titles and descriptions to them if you want. Make sure that you articles are well written and use a few keywords in them, particularly in the opening sentences of your paragraphs ( but don't over do it. Just make it natural) . Throw around a couple of anchor text links inside of your articles (just a couple), and promote them to get some backlinks. If you get into the habit of doing this as you create each new page or article, it will always be done.
Once his work is done, change the password of his username (also the email address, if that is not your). Also look in the users, if, in case, he created a new user for access.
Change the passwords once the job is completed. And if you are so concerned keep a website backup before providing him the details. And what all onopage optimization do you need. There are not a lot of onpage optimization things to do in wordpress it is quite good in SEO on its own. Just use an SEO plugin such as Yoast SEO an configure it properly, use an image SEO plugin such as SEO friendly images, check the header and title tags and if possible check for h1 tag and also use a internal links plugin such as the prelovac one and lastly, use a related posts plugin. Those are more than enough for any wordpress site.
simply daily backup and if it's happen, disable website via cpanel and change password via phpmyadmin
As long as you did not provide him with cPanel access , then you be fine if you gave him ftp access. Even then you can always reset the cPanel acces from your WHM panel Changing DB access is also easy, make sure you update your wp-cofig.php file after that.
