First of all,I just need replies from my Indians based in US or US only members.. Its related to my career and so plz dont distract me by giving wrong advices. IM a 20 yr old guy from Mumbai,India and now im doing Electronics & telecommunication Engg here from Mumbai,but i think,i can make a better career in Web Development Field. Now i work for a company based in US and i design websites for it,develop Wordpress ,Joomla websites for it and do some php works also. They pay me around 1300-1400$ a month,but my parents are not happy with it. They need me to do a degree course in what im interested and then only they will be happy. They are not using my money also,but they are only asking for my future and degree certificates. Even if i have good potential to work and earn,then are too stubborn for my studies career.. So atlast i have decided and has came to a point.. I Have decided to goto USA to my Aunt and study html,php,asp.net,javascript,web design,etc AGAIN from beginning so that i can get a degree certificate for all of it. By that,i can be called as CERTIFIED CODER & PROGRAMMER Also. My parents just want hear this and see the certificates.. I myself also, wan to learn a lot of it.. Now i just do my stuffs and succeed,but i need to be PRO in it ,so that i can earn even 5 times of what i earn now. So i need all of your help now,and please say me,if my decision is correct or not. And if not correct,then why?? if correct,then is it going to build up my future in good way?? I need ur imp replies for my parents. Thanks...
No real companies will hire you w/o a degree in the USA pretty much. Its best to get a degree then you can get a job with a company and not an individuals. I live in the USA.
The problem you are having is exactly same as mine. But i agree that degree certificates are must.So i would suggest go to USA and get a degree in which ever feild you like. By the way i am also in mumbai and in electronics and telecoms diploma third year.
I am from India. The parents here are orthodox and conservative and hence they want their children to follow the road frequently traveled. Though the road less traveled will be adventurous, you may encounter danger en route and for this reason, you are always expected to play safe. Larry Page and Sergey Brin decided their destiny and hence launched the company google. If you think a formal higher education is essential to polish your skills, then go ahead. Well,thanks for all the kind replies.. And yes,i have dcided to goto US by next month or so.. But can USA member guide me up,if there is any degree course in US there for these progamming and coding part and whats the total time and money required for it...
One more thing.. I am from Bangalore, India which is called the Silicon Valley of India.. From what I see from Headlines of daily News Papers, all IT,BT Companies are requesting the Campus Hires to join after a year.So there is less scope for traditional Engineering Courses unless you are really interested and expert. So its better for you to take the Web Development Field and go to the US.. Or Else, just complete your Engg course in India and start your own Web Development Company in India itself. You can start with web services and design and can make a fortune here.. The Web Market is still unsaturated in India and there is a lot of place for expansion.. Waiting for your replies, Shreyas
Im not interested in India at all,as no one is paying good money for hard work and here everyone cheats the other. I have decided to goto US only and pursue the Web development degree courses,but 1st i would like to know what all requirements are there and how much money and all.
Well, India is developing now.. I know all Indians are wanting to go to US, but they have their own problems.. You can get a good pay there, but you will have equal amount of expenses.. But if you work in India and earn in Dollars, then you can make a wonderful life.. This is just my opinion...
yes thats what i do now,but im not a certified man. So i just want to goto USA to have my degree. Then i will return to India and do my work from here. So i have to go only for studies...

Yes it needs some first class career first,i guess. I already haev got 90.2% in ICSE and 79.6% in ISC,so i think,i can do it and moreover im very good at those stuffs,without even having a degree of it.. Well,is there any US guy over here who can help us???
Complete you engineering, it'll take only 1-2 years more and will keep your parents satisfied. After your engineering you are free to do anything.

Your formation of sentences and language is very childish. I strongly suggest you complete your degree that would give you more language and analytical skills.. yes its true you dont need to study your Engineering for the sake of knowledge but for the skills it's offering. participate in extra curricular activities and socialise. You may be good in programming/scripting but itis more important to get a balanced education... short term success in a niche are is no guarantee for your future. I'm pretty sure that you are making your decision based on the money thet you are getting but no amount of money can substitute a lively college life and exposure. There are more social aspects to it rather than career or money matters. Stop your US ideas, complete your degree and then make a decision that would be a mature one. You are young still have lot of time to start your career. Why all the hurry ? money ? and what do you mean by a degree course in coding and programming ?? theres nothing like that a If you want to study a degree course it is obviously going to contain a lot more subjects.... any 15 year old could teach himself coding and programming by going through tutorials on the web. you probably mean various vendor certifications like Zend certification for PHP. you can obtain that while studying engineering also.. there are a lot of Zend testing centres in India and a ton of Microsoft training centres. If you start a good task complete it, that would make your life more meaningful and wholesome. Dont run away from it. I just gave my sincere advice. but as always your life is in your own hands. Make wise decisions. _
