    Hello,
Well i want to move one of my site from my server to other shared hosting, i have tried to backup but due to lack of space i can't do it, as the space on HDD fills up. So is there any other way through which i can do it, space used by tht account is about 15 GB

    Waiting for ur replies

    Regards.

Would it be possible for you to ftp the site in more bite size chunks? Perhaps you could download 1 gig at a time and upload it to your new server that way. Also, most webhosts will move your site for you free if it is a new account. Other than that the only alternative I can think of is to hire someone else to do it for you.

if you have cpanel, it can zip up the entire home directory, but 15gb is a lot of space and it might not work, other than that, you can FTP like kentucky said, thats how i do it at least.

o or you can zip one folder at a time and download them one by one, slow but it works.

You will need an ftp program and preferrably a broad band internet connection. If your website strucure is laid out in subfolders your job may be easier. I dont think there is a way to zip the files before you ftp them except for the option in cpanel which archives the entire contents.

With an ftp program (such as coffe cup ftp which is free) you can drag and drop the contents of your server just like with windows explorer.

If you are on dial up then I would say your only alternative is to hire someone to do it for you - unless you are setting up a new hosting account where the host will move it free
