Need help regarding Adsense CPC

I've read some interesting things about Google and Adsense throughout the last few weeks on these forums.

Unfortunately I have some issues concerning Adsense earnings. I have a single website on the technology/hardware/computer/games niche. The CPC is absolutely horrible. It can get as low as 0.02 avg is 0.06. I know this niche isn't very well paid but 5 cent a pop is still hellishly low. This has been going for about 5 months.

I think there could be two reasons for this low CPC.

    1. 5 months ago I changed domain names. On the old domain CPC was 0.4. The new domain was previously owned and I sent Google a message for reconsideration (through GWMT) they replied withing 24 hours (to my surprise) and said no penalty were in effect for the new domain and that I shouldn't worry.

    2. I created some small websites and monetized them with the same adsense account. Revenue was ok but nothing special. Soon I realized that these websites might hurt my earnings by smart pricing. I removed them 20 days ago and the CPC on the main website is still low as hell.

I blocked MFA ads but to no avail.

The main website gets 100.000 hits per month, white hat SEO only, 80% of visits come from Google search, PR2 and a few days ago just got sitelinks. 50% of visitors come from US, UK and the rest from all over the world. I see new links to this domain every day and they come from reputable websites that are on the same niche as me.

In a few words, the website is pretty strong seo wise but earnings are low low low. eCPM is 0.4 E.....

Has google smart priced my adsense account? If yes what can I do? Adsense Help is very sketchy and I just wasted hours reading useless nothingness...

    Thank you !

It seems that your adsense account is smart priced.
in my opinion stop serving adsense for 1 month and then come back to adsense

Thanks for your reply. I've seen other people recommend removing ads for a period of time (14,20 days). I removed all ads and I hope I can resist for a whole month...

I already said what my niche is: technology/hardware/computer/games and that is not that well paid but I'm getting a lot of 1-2c clicks...

You should remove ads for sometimes and then again enable them to your website.

I disagree with everyone- removing wont do anything. Removing and then replacing can make Google edgy, just focus on growing and adding quality content and decreasing your bounce rate.

look dude this niches are of very low CPC for the last few months. i don't think you can improve the CPC too much by doing anything :0
so targeting the visitors and attracting them is the only way to increase the total earning. so i suggest to drive more traffic to your site it will increase the earning.
and why you are depending on adsense? try affiliate marketing and sell your site's places for advertisement. it will definitely help.
    thanks

I'm currently making 4 times less than I used to with Adsense and visits have grown quite a lot...

Here's a fun fact: a click on a CPC ad gets me more than 10 times less money than a click on a CPM ad...if that makes any sense...

Another one: a click on a Contextual ad pays exactly ten times less than a Interest based ad...

This is pretty strange it should be exactly the opposite, thing is that I get 6 times more clicks on CPC and Contextual ads than on CPM or Interest based ones...

I changed my Adsense account with one I forgot I had and asked Adsense Support to close the other one.

It's been a full month since I switched accounts and things don't look better. I've done some research and managed to get a 2% CTR (previously I had below 1%). Currently get about 2000 clicks a month, average CPC is still hellishly low - 5 cents.

Used a hell of a lot of scripts and plugins to check Adsense clicks activity so I can fight invalid activity better, can't get a general idea because all of them report something else...x script sees click here, y script sees it there...I only got more confused.

85% of clicks come from people referred by Google Search, and I still get quite a few invalid clicks, yesterday alone I saw 2 clicks 1.5E each but where later "adjusted" to 0.01 each...

Yesterday I implemented a script that hides Adsense ads after 3 pageviews (sets a cookie), hope this will decrease invalid activity.

Another sad thing is that the so called Premium Traffic CPC is worse than CPC from countries like Jordan, Malaysia, Slovenia etc.

What the hell am I doing wrong? Or what am I not doing? If someone could enlighten me I would be grateful.

    Regards.
