This web host is hosting my http://www.cheapcameras.ws but as you can see, it supposedly has exceeded it's bandwidth. I have written the host but to no avail. Won't help. Can someone make recommendatoion as to how best to get assistance? I am fully paid up on the hosting of this particular site. Problem is, I purchased the site (directly from person running this hosting service) and now cannot get help . . . . it's as though I am being held hostage. Feedback / constructive criticism appreciated.
Why don't you change hosting? Just like njoker555 says, these plans are quite expensive and 2 gb isn't that much.
My problem is....I did not build this site - it was actually built by someone else, so all of the contents (template, placeholder of content etc.) I don't possess. However, I do have Cpanel access. It's frustrating when you don't get help but I learned one thing, be extremely careful as to whom you deal with in the future. If there is any other insights you can provide as to how I can remedy this problem, feel free to offer. This was supposed to be a great deal, I had invested in BANS software incorporated with this particular site, as it has an Ebay configuration, including AdSense monetization. Alas, no help otherwise, only charges to assist me.
Hi Mentos: Don't know what's going on....site is now visible: http://www.cheapcameras.ws but yes, the domain is registered in my name via GoDaddy. So far as backing up all my files and DB and moving to another host, I wouldn't know where to begin. As mentioned, I bought the site "as is", offered for sale at another web site auction. I do have Cpanel access but that is it. I notice a "buggy" line of code appearing at top of page in my browser. Alas, a big waste of money so far! Thank you very much for your insights! I'm between a rock and a hard place I reckon....
It appear to me that your website contain malware. About the header error, you need to hire code to fix for you.
Well, I would if I could (move to another host)...but I bought those 5 sites as a "package" deal....unbeknownst to me that CheapCameras site had an infection....how do you like that? A site offered for sale, that's infected with malware....sell it off to the unsuspecting sucker like me.Well, Mentos, I appreciate your input....so now that I am in this "happy" state of mind, how much more will it cost me to hire coder to fix this? This is so disgusting - and to realize the hosting service is really not providing much space.
It shouldn't be too expensive to de-bug your site. Get a few quotes to compare, and if you think it's too costly you could always get a web designer to re-design the site for you instead. When you're shopping for a new cpanel host ask if their techs can migrate your site for you, some will do this for free. There's a few advertisements on your site - are you making revenue off them or is your host?
I think you need to upgrade for higher plan then pay for extras. I'm sure that will help you save some money
PingPipe....curious to know first: how or what would my very first step need to be taken in order to de-bug CheapCameras? I agree, I am going to move these sites....I don't get much assistance from the host and they want to charg me exhorbitantly. But first....how to de-bug?
Probably the least expensive way to get someone to de-bug would be to hire a student. If there's a College or University in your town that offers computer science classes that would be a good start. Phone up the department and ask if they have a job board or anything similar for students wanting to take on a side project. A grad student could probably help you out, and would be happy to do so for the business reference you could give them.
With cPanel, you can take a full website backup (files, DBs, etc) in Files -> Backup -> Full Backup -> Generate or download full website backup. Signup with another host that uses cPanel or provides migration from a cPanel host. Restore it using Files -> Backup Wizard.
dinrock: Get quotes from freelancer at getafreelancer.com. I do have positive experience hiring programmers over there to do some coding for me. But there will be extra charges like project and transaction fees.
if you have CPanel then definetly you have FTP access then its easy to access. And again you have access to that godaddy account in which your domain is registered. IF above are true then move your site to shared hosting provider like hostagator, hostmonster, fatcow, hostupon so many are there with huge Bandwidth and 24/7 customer care. But don't host with godaddy they are not good for hosting
Certainly have apprciated all this advice...in fact, I have saved this particular thread to my desktop and copied the most vital steps and pasted into a Notepad file as I ready all this. Yes, I do have Cpanel on all these....and those mentioned as being WP platform have the additional Username & Password to access the WP components also. And I am familiar with GoDaddy not being one of the bestter hosting providers....these other hosts you mention are great. In fact, I will put down all necessary steps to do all this from start to finish in order to accomplish this and repost them here....I wonder if that would be a good thing? In the event someone else is having similar difficulties?Or do you think the mod here will penalize me? Not sure - but thanks a bunch....
