Need help: PRs of dropped domains down to 0 in 1 day

    Hi there,

I've found and bought some recently deleted domains (1x5,2x4,1x3) 2 days ago. At the time of purchase, I've checked PRs with different tools, there were links shown in Google and Yahoo.

But today when I checked the domain PRs all were set to zero. And the links are gone.

    Does anyone have any idea?

Can the reason be the registrar's "parking" page? Should I put a basic site right after I purchase the domains?

    Any help greatly appreciated

That is what happen with expired domains.
And yes you should of populate them with the original content to match their old theme, this way all BL would be related and help keep the PR.
Now since you kept it parked, those BL lost their value.
But again , it is hard in general to keep PR with expired domains although is not impossible, just need to know how.

yeah but it all happened in just one day. Was google waiting for me to purchase all four domains?

No, why would google wait for you? Don't you think they have better things to do?

I believe there was some small pr update and that may have affected the drop

Lol I was kidding for sure. I'm just surprised by the coincidence.

Actually I was planning to sell them so thank God they lost PR while I still own them.

I agree, it could have caused some trouble for you. As stated by agtile, this is unfortunately what happens.

same here. the sites that i populated with original content kept PR (well 1 one those, the other one is still unranked) the others are down to PR0. But another interesting case is that about 3 months ago I took a dropped (previously parked) domain and promoted which gets around 500 uniques per day, real traffic, but the PR is 0, from MozRank 0 I brought it up to MozRank 5, supposedly there should have been some PR provided to it

Rian is right, it must have been some small pr update. Start building backlinks for these domains and may be you'll have a good pr in the next major pr update.

ajomehri, a dropped domain will lose its pagerank if kept undeveloped and backlinks are lost.

Keep building your site, add unique content, attract visitors and keep building backlinks. The PR will be coming back if you pay attention to your site.

I wonder if they were expired as opposed to dropped i.e. deleted completely from the registry before you registered them?

I wonder whether the domains you bought were linked in any way e.g. were they from the same previous owner? Did you have any other expired domains that were unaffected?

well actually I'm pretty ignorant about the subject. I took the domains from a list of "recently deleted domains" and registered in 24 hours or so.

I was hoping to sell them as domain only but just after 1-2 days PRs went from 5-4 to 0

Maybe that was just bad luck that the domains were effected by a pr update.

I once placing a parking page on an expired domain I bought, and its PR dropped from 2 to 0
I don't know if this was due to me placing a parking page, or if it was an automatic process done by google on all expired domains

There was a small PR update affecting dropped domains.
Put some relevant content and wait... Hopefully PR would restore with next update
