Hi I am a total newbie in pay per click advertising. I have a new Rugby forum: http://www.rugbyforum.info which I would like to get some targeted traffic to. I would like only to get users wanting to chat and discuss rugby issues in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Now how do I go about doing this and what keywords should I target Any suggestions please. Thanks
To run ads in specific countries: Go to Campaign Management>Edit Campaign Settings On the right side of the screen, you'll see Target Audience. You can select either Language- English, French, Hebrew, whatever, and underneath that, you can select by country. For keywords, try: New Zealand rugby, SA rugby, Australian rugby league, South Africa rugby, Australia rugby. If you target phrases like "discuss New Zealand rugby", you might get more targetted traffic, but there probably will not be too much of it. Good luck.
IN addition to that country targeting, find the general keywords, and use negative keywords to filter out related keywords you don't want traffic from... e.g. 'rugby equipment' - and you can write your ad explicitly to say 'forum', 'talk', 'discussions'-
Take a look @ the AdSense Heatmap for Forums: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2005/10...ceid=ASO&subid=us_en-link-opttips&medium=link
targeting adwords with non-english words is the total mess. adwords provide less suggestions and usually those suggestions are total nonsense. In hebrew adwords tool shows keywords in the wrong direction
I'll be writing a blog article in the next few days about this one, because it's such an important aspect of Adwords campaign management, but not everyone knows how or what to do. H
123GoToAndPlay, I now have a post in my blog about negative keywords if you want to grab a look. Cheers H
