Hi I am going to be setting up 100 proxy sites that will each have 1k visitors per day. What kind of dedi/vps could handle this? I just need some spec's as I am not too good with this kind of thing.

You could sign up for a lesser plan with a VPS host and upgrade when it becomes too slow. I would recommend STARTING at 512MB RAM...

512MB of ram for 100 Proxy sites with 1k visitors per day is far too low. You would need ATLEAST 1GB of ram but even then your server could easily slow down if theres alot of visitors on at once. A Dual Core or Quad Core processor will be good but I recommend that you start off with a Dual Core. You will need to have plenty of bandwidth because of them being proxy sites.

Yes, I think this will work if you optimize Apache and MySQL - then you should be fine :)

If its optimized, it will work better and faster under stressed conditions. If you buy a VPS, contact me and I'll be willing to optimize it for you!

What is mean't by that is, hopefully your proxy scripts are the most efficient and won't cause huge RAM/CPU & mySQL loads...

You will want at least 1GB of RAM, preferably more... Proxy sites are huge resource hogs..

The zelune script reduces the system load alot and bandwidth aswell.

Yes but running that many proxy sites, I recommend that you get your VPS optimized also.
