Hi I am not a SEO expert but based on my experience, there are so many free articles on the subject if you really look around. I don't think we need to pay for expensive softwares, etc as I have came across some really good ones which are very reasonable priced too. PM me if you want some good notes which I can share with you.
In fact if you do a little research and read some seo articles I think you can do a pretty good job by yourself.
Firstly I'd say get rid of all your CSS and Javascript to external files - gooooogle and all the other search engines don't want to wade through all that to find some content! Secondly, why are you listing all these artists on the same page? Create a page for each and put some quality content on each, and funnel back to the homepage. There is so much dilution of content caused by too much code on this page it is staggering! Search engines don't want to see all that code and virtually no readable content. Thirdly... if you really have to use google ads on your pages, blend them into your site so they don't stand out so much. People are much more likely to click through if they are not so obvious. and lastly.. if you really want to get noticed then set up a blog and funnel this into the website as at the moment Goooogle is obsessed with blogs!
hey website design uk, thanks for your help. i give you a good reputation! You think is a good way do a blog about arts?
The power of blogs comes from interesting content that people want to see. This promotes repeated visits and is why the search engines are obsessed with them. All your pictorial content is fine, but I would think about structuring the site differently, maybe using very small thumbnail images and some textual content about the artists on the homepage would work a lot better for you, as then the search engines would have something to be interested in... that's why I said to have separate pages with lots of textual content for each artist as the pages need to be focused on a particular artist. The main problem at the moment with the homepage is that it has no focus on any term in particular so the search engines have nothing to focus on. Put in more textual content about each artist here, and reduce the amount of load time for your pages by reducing the images and all should be fine. You could also put in search engine friendly URL's as well.. this would help!
Note These Points : 1) MAke your Page w3c validated. 2) Write Unique sensible Meta Discription Tag of Page. 3) Place ALT text on Images. 4) Submit your site into free directories.
I think people over-react to the whole w3c thing to be honest. My site isn't even close to w3c and it does great(top 10 for all niches keywords) Matter of fact, watch what happens when I run the w3c: Result: Failed validation, 111 errors How bad is 111 errors? Is that above or below average? Maybe I should try to get it w3c'd, but I have over 140,000 pages, it would take forever.
I am pretty good SEO, i plan on making money from it soon, but heres my advice: -Your keywords are too many, never have more than 12. -Also, add more of your keywords into your title that helps alot. -Make your links Searchbot Friendly (eg. instead of this: http://art.lojadeluxo.com/index.php?id=Alfred Glendening make it http://art.lojadeluxo.com/alfredglendening.html , there are many scripts that can do this just search google for them. Hope i helped
The page has no text, websites with content will probably outrank you as they have keywords within the body. You might think about targeting more niche terms as 'Art Gallery' has a lot of competition.
here are my suggests for you * use different meta tags and title for every page. (i see that all meta tags are the same on your site) * use sef urls instead of /index.php?id=Pissaro * validate your xhtml * make a new design . your site looks like a mfa site
First and before you do anything optimize your Title, meta description, and meta keywords. I see that you did this, but make sure these are the terms which you want to "attack" on the serps. I strongly advise you to put some of those keywords in your title as well. Titles give most weight for crawlers. So modify the title like this... <title>Art Gallery - Art Museum - Browse Through Our Gallery With Da Vinci, Dali, Picasso, Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, Monet and many more..</title> Also put some text. At least 1 or 2 paragraphs. Includa a <h1></h1> somewhere on key words in the page. place a sitemap...google loves sitemap. Optimize each subpage to have its own title, keywords and description. Start linking as much as you can..but with only high quality and related websites. Sites which are well established and of which you are sure that wont get banned. wait for 9 months and voilla cheers Nik
