I need to get a new one for my house. We are looking some like the Linksys ultra range plus wireless-n broadband router with 4-port switch or similar. It'll function like a wireless router, but you can also hook up via a cat-5 cable, too. Anything in particular should I look for since this is my first time setting up a wireless network? Also, we have a desktop that runs from a NIC with a Cat-5 cable and a laptop that runs from a wireless adapter. Will a router like I described above run both the wireless & 4-port switch at once allowing us both to be online. Or will we have to choose either wireless or the 4-port switch setup? Thanks!
I have the DIR-625 I believe. Was about $120 when I got it, I think it's down to $80 now. Never had a problem with it. Very fast, can do online gaming, high demand applications, anything. Great range. I love it.
I would pick up the Linksys. They are always pretty good, I've had a bit of trouble their software for a 54GS model, but she still run's like a charm. Defiantly worth the money
