I do agree, article submission is also a good way to earn traffic from your blog. Submit articles to certain article submission site. The good thing about it is, once your articles are published, then you will have the opportunity to have your blog visited by any person reading your articles. Just make sure you include your blog address once you submit your articles. Its really a good way to gain traffic. As an added bonus, there are certain articles submission sites that pays you when you submit articles since it incorporates ads from google. So you are basically hitting two birds with one stone.

For blog should have especially very rich content and useful information, so that by minimum promotion over the forums, related to your blog, visitor will come again and again to view the same. Some time, it may happen, visitor starts to refer your blog to another members, in discussion. Article submission is the worst way, IMO. You are getting traffic through search engines also when your blog and post being cached by G, than why do you distribute your own rich and unique content over the web. If you go for article submissions, remember you need to compete with article directories as well. I am not in favor of Article submissions.

Works ONLY if you got loads of mutual friends to send a "shout" to. No they won't! Again, you need many friends. So the bottomline for those wanting to achieve anything in social sites: socialize, socialize and socialize. Without friends you are nothing on these sites. Without a network or a help from outside, you will get 3 or 4 diggs if you are lucky.
After creating blog u have to ping it .... Its very useful to get the traffic. It updates our site when its pinged in famous one... thus, spiders visit us as well. Social Book marking also plays an important role in getting the blog very popular in short time. Forum posting and blog commenting will help you the get more traffic ...All the best!!
I read all replies and they are usefull, but something you might have forgotten is to include the "alt" and/or "title" parameter in <img which is also important (CMIIW). I see your blog has good images and that can bring traffic from search engines' image search. Hope this help
