Dear DP members this question is regarding backlink reports. how to check backlinks of our website.i use some of these please check and let me know is it okey.1) first option i am checking my Backlinks through webmaster tools [Link To Your Site] option i see 5000 links there Ok.2) second i use link:my domain name in google search it shows nthing.3) third i use free tools for checking backlinks some time they shows 3 or more then it.i am totaly confuse that how much Backlinks we are having and how to chck them can anyone please explain it to me how to check Back links properly. because of above i couldn't able to make backlink reports can any one please explain me about what google webmaster tools shows if they are backlinks then why i couldn't able to check them by 2nd and 3rd option.. its totally confusing please friends make me clearThanks In Advance.
For your own site just use Google Webmaster Tools and forget the rest. Third party tools do not have access to the same data as Google does, and if you are looking to rank with Google then it is only what they find that matters. The link.my domain name command was never accurate and GWT superseded it some years ago.
I think we can consider only Google webmaster tools list , ya "link:my domain name" is the another way to find the back link but some time it does not work properly , and forget about the third party tools .

I have another Question now.. see when i check my webmaster account it show total number of links and then when i click on a link website like any directory website show in webmaster its show me total number of link 500 and number of linked page 1 can you please tell me what is it means .. i mean 500 link how when i submit only 1 or max 10 url included domain and subdomain. then why its shows 500 links and when i check on the directory i found only 2 links there. so could you explain me what is this ? if i count 500 links on a particular directory then why the my site isn't show 500 times there or it have another method please friends tell me or suggest me any thread ebook or any other resource where i can learn easily about the backlink checking ...
