Hi everyone, newbie. I need any suggestions please. Which better to do, register a new domain or make sub domain with my existing domain. I want to make new site about phone and my segment target is my own country. My hosting space about 50M and currently I have about 40 M disk space remaining. So what should I do? Register a new domain e.g phone.com or create subdomain eg phone.supriyadisw.net. Thank for your help?

From an advertising and SEO perspective it won't make much difference. Although you can definately get your keywords into the subdomain, while you may not have so much luck with a full domain name.

From a usability point of view people get flumoxed by subdomains so that might be an issue to consider.

From a hosting point of view hosts often limit the number of domains in your account but are more generous with subdomains. Depending on your plans you may prefer to save the domain opportunity for something else - or you may be happy to extend your hosting plan when the need arises.

I saw the title and was about to write the exact same thing sarahk wrote.

Although I will add this: I ultimately go with new domains for extremely niche sites. Why? Directories will accept links from new domains, but will not post multiple links to different subdomains. You're essentially cutting off one of your link building avenues if you're going purely with subdomains.

HOWEVER, if you have methods to offset this link loss, your main domain can benefit from having popular sites on its subdomains due to people removing the subdomain and typing in the main domain out of curiosity. It's a great source of traffic and a way to build branding.

    To sum things up:
Long term, build branding, other linking methods, related content to main domain - subdomains

Need a quick short term strategy, good niche, less competition - go with new domains.

It's really a decision of trading directory links for branding ;)
