Hi Guys, I am looking for advice and tips (particularly from people who have done so previously) on how to successful launch my marketplace. The site has a few competitive advantages but can not be successful until I have a large number of buyers and sellers because like most marketplaces quantity is very important. The site is buyestablishedwebsites.com and has been live for 2 weeks and has had some OK success. I am looking for some real creative suggestions or some specific suggestions as well. I am doing SEO work for it now and expect positive results in the next month or so but until then I need to market effectively. Currently the site is free to list and has an escrow payment function for security. My budget is moderate but I am trying desperately to be very frugal and get the maximum returns on my investments. If there is a proven marketing expert here who would be interested in the project let me know because I would be happy to add some more experience to the team. Any advice would be appreciated guys. You have a pretty good looking marketplace for site sales! SEO might take some time so I would suggest to be proactive. And you're right you need to have a constant stream of buyers and sellers reading the page to be successful. The first thing you need is more sellers. Perhaps, you could write some articles and give tips on successful website sales to draw sellers. Also, you might want to make some Craigslist posts asking if anyone wants to sell their site and then you can offer people your service. These things shouldn't cost you much money.
Thanks for the feedback. I will hit up craigslist and see if I can get more sellers. Obviously sellers would prefer to list thier site where there are lots of buyers so its a catch 22. Still I will continue working on it. Thanks again
