Need help installing ZenCart: Trouble with SSL Certificate and https://

    Hello

I am in the process of installing ZenCart for an e-commerce site I am building part as a favor part learning experience. As part of the installation I learned that I need an SSL Certificate and that https://my-domain.com should work when it's installed. So I purchased an SSL Certificate after making a private key/certificate request in Cpanel, got the certificate code back from the company and "installed" it in the Cpanel. However - when I go to https nothing has changed at all, so clearly I am missing a step here but I cannot figure out what and I am having trouble finding help googling because I don't really know the relevant lingo... I am very new to this process, really all i know is HTML CSS and a bit of PHP.

Thank you very very much for any help with this!
    Bert

    Thanks aroel!

Well from what I understand, before I get the certificate, when I go to https://mysite.com I get an error because I don't have the secure certificate. But now that I have purchased and installed the certificate, I was expecting something to happen when I go there.

Did you correctly installed the certificate? Do you have your own dedicated IP?

Pretty sure the certificate is installed correctly.

Dedicated IP... I think I might not? I did a whois on my site and the IP is 208.38.186.171

You definitely need a dedicated IP to install a certificate, it shown on the left side of you cpanel whether you have it or not, probably you only have a shared one.

To run SSL Website (https://www.xyz.tld) you need to follow this step.
    1. Dedicated IP Hosting
    2. SSL Certificate
    3. Install Properly to the server.

If you get any difficulty inform I am sure I can help you.
    Thank You

Thanks very much again for your help.

I have moved to a dedicated server now. However, when I go to https://mysite.com there is still no change.

Do I need to do something else, like "activate" something for that to work? Do I need to create folders on the server? I feel like there is something very silly that I'm not doing and that's why it's not working.

    I am using Cpanel.

When I visit my site (https://thebluejaysgarden.com/) I still get this error:

I finally got this to work, I uploaded the certificate code to my site and thought I was done, but I hadn't activated and installed it.

Thanks very much for your help everyone!
