I have designed a web template for my site using Dreamweaver CS5. I just want to upload it to my web server. All my sites are powered by wordpress and i have given c-panel hosting to all the site under one account. Now i have designed my webpage using Dreamweaver CS5. When i connect using the FTP server, it asks for a user name and password. So I created my username and password in my c-panel FTP account. After creating it, It shows the following FTP address like ftp://ftp.myhost.com/. I just want to upload the webpage file to just one site. But there are more than 10 domains in my account. If i upload the design to my FTP, Will it affect the other sites. Please help me out.
It would have been better if you had mentioned the site where your website is hosted. Anyways, your FTP username will be "anything@yourdomain.com" and not "anything". Try using this. This should fix your problem. Your other sites will not be affected.
When we published a website we need to clearly identified about 03 things. 01. Domain Name 02. Hosting Server Name 03. Name Server Records (NS) of Hosting Server You have to find out your name server record from Hosting server side & it is need to configured to Domain name Server. For example if you have domain name like my-domain.com and if you planned to host it at my-hosting.com following the steps you have to workout, a. When do you get hosting space from my-hosting.com you need to discover about Name server records of my-hosting.com ( This may be NS1.my-hosting.com, NS2.my-hosting.com). b. Enter your Domain Name (my-domain.com) in your your Hosting Server's Control Panel. c. You need to indicate your name servers records in your Domain server ( at my-domain.com) Control panel as Name servers. ( This will take about 24-72 hrs to interconnect both Hosting Server & Domain Name Server)
