Hi DP forumers, I'm a rather experienced writer (wrote for TV, magazines, and news blogs) but I'm a total newbie when it comes to internet marketing. I just recently discovered the DP forums, and boy, was it ever helpful in giving me ideas on how to augment my income. One thing I'm setting my eyes on is the creation of PLR article packs. It seems like a good way to increase the value of the articles I write, while providing something cheap for the end user. I find it similar to syndication, except that in syndicated news articles, there is usually attribution, while buyers of PLR don't have any responsibility to attribute the articles to the original source. I have some questions though, and I really can't find the answers even though I've searched frantically on Google: 1) How do sellers differentiate PLR articles from non-PLR/unique articles? Do I need to put some clause/note on each article stating that it is PLR? 2) What file type do PLR articles usually come in--Word documents or PDF? 3) Is there a way so I can set-up a pay-and-download system for these packs? e.g., A customer pays for a PLR pack, and they immediately get access to a download page. Is this provided for in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum? 4) I was thinking of limiting the download of each PLR pack, say, 100 for each pack. How can I do that? 5) How can I be sure that people who buy my PLR packs do not resell them as their own PLR packs? Thanks in advance for helping a newbie out!
1. PLR articles are meant to be sold, resold and sold again - ad nauseum. They were never meant to be 'unique' - meaning you can sell the same pack as many times as you have buyers for it. Articles being marketed as 'unique' have to be..well, unique. They can only be sold once. After that, they are no longer 'unique'. 2. Preference, really. Doesn't matter. 3. Yes. You can set up a PayPal store front on your website and people can purchase directly from there. Coding for all that should come with the set up for the storefront. This is often a free service offered by many website building platforms and comes like a widget. 4. You should be able to note within that coding how many of a particular item you have 'in stock'. In stock for you would mean how many you want to sell. 5. You can't. By definition, PLR articles are theirs to do with what they wish. Even if they couldn't, there's still no 100% method of safeguarding your content against theft - asided from not creating it at all.
Hi... I own a PLR store.. Sellers note that they will be sold again by placing the information directly on the listing. Yes you need to note that within the sales area but not the actual article. Go with txt and doc. PDF can not be edited. Offer options for your buyers because not everyone has word. You can use places like E-junkie.com , JVzoo.com or many others. There are tons of download services online. Many shopping carts offer downloads now. When you use a specific download service.. they allow you to limit the downloads within the system. There are ways to prevent that from happening but it's hard and expensive. People cheat the system often. I tend to give people rights to do what they'd like with my articles as long as they don't place my name or my businesses name on them. There are tons of ebooks that outline how to open a PLR store and start a PLR business. Look on warrior forums. If you need any more help.. you can send me a PLR. I've owned my PLR store for 18 months.. I know this business like crazy. One piece of advice I can give you -- make sure you have an affiliate program and you build a list. Without that.. you won't make as much as you soon. Good luck!
Hey sweetcrabhoney, thanks for the tips! I hope you won't mind me asking a few more questions. I've already read Tiffany Dows PLR ATM, and the business seems straightforward enough. Also read tons of articles and blog posts about this, but none of them covered affiliate programs. I'm fairly new to this, and so a little bit ignorant, but how do these affiliate programs work exactly? I've rummaged through your site and it seems that affiliates sell your products for you. But how exactly? And $1.00 for 5 articles? WOW. Isn't that a bit low? I was thinking of selling for $1 a piece, like what most PLR sites out there do. Do you even profit from having such a low price? Thanks again!
