Hi everyone, my Facebook account got hacked 2 weeks ago and the hacker changed both my password AND log-in email. Facebook did send me an email to notify me that an unauthorized person was trying to access my account but I was on a vacation and did not have connection to my email. By the time I could check my email, the hacker had already changed my log-in details. I have tried following the procedures stated in Facebook (www.facebook.com/hacked) but I always end up at the page where I am asked to reset my password. There is no way that I can do that because the hacker specifically created a new email and used that as the log-in email so even if I do reset my password, I will not be able to receive it. As of now, my account is still up and functioning, just that I do have control over it. Can anyone help, please?
Does https://www.facebook.com/hacked not help, that's what you want to aim at rather than a password recovery. There was a method before where your friends can identify you and help you recover your account, so that could be great if it's still available.
Hi iexo, Thank you for responding. I have already tried [https://www.facebook.com/hacked] but the procedure is very much circular, meaning that I will be directed through a series of questions but it seems like the only recovery solution Facebook has is to get me to reset my password which I can't because the hacker changed the log-in email for my account. Don't know what else to do...
