Need help in making sense of keyword

First this might be a confusing post and I apologies for that. I'm brand new to Internet Marketing and there is a scenario that is driving me crazy:

Let me illustrate my problem with a hypothetical example:

Let's say I want to make a website on "body lotions" (sorry couldn't think of anything else :p)

Google keyword tool tells me this:

Body lotion (keyword) - competition =low, global monthly searches = 200,00,00, total searches results on Google for body lotion = 250,000,000
brand x body lotion (keyword) - competition = High, global monthly searches = 33000 total searches results on Google for brand x body lotion = 3,300,000
brand y body lotion (keyword) - competition = Medium, global monthly searches = 14000 total searches results on Google for brand x body lotion = 37,000,000

Which of the above 3 scenarios would constitute a good keyword? Also, once I've found a keyword that might work, then what? What other metrics about that keyword should I look at and how?

I've also noticed that benefits, causes, uses (e.g benefits of body lotion, uses of body lotion, what is body lotion etc) have low competition and high searches.

Now for question number 2 :)P, sorry!)

Let's say 'cars' as a keyword has low competition and high searches but "racing cars', 'vintages cars' etc as keywords have high competition and comparitively low searches. Would it make any sense making a website around the keyword cars since racing cars, vintage cars etc includes the keyword cars?

You're mistaking "competition". The GAKT is reffering to advertiser competition. I assume you're referring to organic searches and not PPC?

You can kind of determine if the keyword is worth going after by the amount of "exact match" searches and the CPC (cost per click), and see how it's trending. But to get a better understanding of determining competition you should download something like MarketSamurai, it has a 30 trial and excellent video tutorials.

For your second question, do not focus ever on just one single keyword for your site or brand. Use a set of closely related short and long keywords and phrases for backlinking and content optimization.

Any keyword have a lot competition. so you select the keyword which has low competition, and also google search is under 5.000.000 for total of website .this keyword will be right to choose.
