Need Help in Joomla 1.6

I am in need of adding css/js in Joomla1.6 article.
For instance, if I add :

<style type='text/css'>
body {
  color: red;
}
</style>

HTML:

the page has no changes also, the css styles is not seen in the html part.
Please advice!

 

then your editor must be clean the code, have you try to turn off the clean html in editor setting?
