Need help in choosing a webhost...urgent...!!!

Hello guys...I want to buy a web host for my websites...My websites are of downloading stuff...so need a decent space to host many files...niche is software downloads...so I need to host a large number softwares for my website...can u suggest me some good hosting companies...??? Is the unlimited hosting plans have any drawbacks or does it fit my needs...??? What is your opinion about blue host and host monster...??? Please help...!!!

 

Do you want to host files in your webhost? Do you want to create a site like softpedia.com. You will find a lot of hosts are offering unlimited space and too much bandwidth in their shared hosting plans. But they don't allow to use their host for file hosting, image hosting or as storage. Blue host and Host Monster are overseller. They show that they provide a lot of space and unlimited bandwidth but they will suspend your site and hosting account if your site use more CPU than they have allocated to your account.

CPU usages is the factor what overseller don't tell their clients. Beware of it.

Digital Point Forums is a very big forum. This forum may consume around 2 TB (assuming) bandwidth per month. BlueHost and HostMonster provide unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth; then why Digital Point is not hosted there. Only because of server resource use. Thats why it is hosted in its own server.

If you have a lot of files to host you can do two things:
1) Buy your own server. You will not have any restriction there. Host what you want.
2) For file hosting you can use Rapidshare.com. They offer traffic share download. Using which your clients don't need to wait and can easily download softwares from your site. But you have to pay for the bandwidth the files will consume. And if you use Rapidshare.com than you can easily choose a host for a shared hosting plan.

have you check out the Hosting Section of DP? there are many good deals there but beware! keep your eyes on those scammers. do check the provider before any purchasing.

 

You might want to consider a VPS to avoid any issues.

 

Get a Dedicated Box with unlimited Bandwidth.. You won't have to worry about anything.

Is there any disadvantages with unlimited hosts...???
Like host monster, dream host etc...they are giving everything for unlimited...so why choose other hosts for much higher price with limited storage and bandwidth...??? Please clear my doubts...
