Need help in buying domains

Hi guys,

Hope this is the right section

Well the thing is that I want to buy few domains, which I later will develop into proper websites. For this, I need your professional suggestions regarding:

- What should be the preferred domain extension (.com, .net or .org)?
- In what niche/category should I should buy domains for?
- For your recommended niche/category, what are the benefits?
- As I would like to see the results fast (once the domains are developed), what would be the best (& expected) turnaround for the niches when it comes to earning?

Extensions don't matter except country ones.
Niche/category doesn't matter. You must focus on the domain quality.
It takes at least 1 week to see something. Turnaround time is not predictable.
You might also lose.

 

- .com is most prefered, if your site is not about any Organization.

- Category! What it is?

- No such benefit.

- Concentrate on quality build up first. Then bring thought of earning. To get revenue return is not a joke in web. You should be practical.

I think I was not clear enough with my questions, so I am re-arranging it for your ease.

I am planning to buy few domains and I will be developing these domains into sites; to get me few $$. So, what should be my approach in:

- getting domain names
- choosing a niche. I know there are few top niches with minor efforts and with big return, however, I am not "only" going to go for that. You can suggest few long-term and beneficial niches.
- it would be great if you would tell me few benefits of the niche you suggest.
- I know results aren't predictable; but you are welcome to make close guess.

Extension / TLD. dot com, org or dot net are well
category is defend on domain name ( if you'll buy a domain with pr )
if buy domain on godaddy or name.com etc it's defend on your website niche such as: home improvement, health, business etc

 

Step 1: Prepare list of niches you can work on (write articles and love to do that ).

Step 2: do a little research on each of those niches and see the competetion, thus you will also know the possible methods of making money in that niche. sort out which of that money making ideas you can work on, discard other ones.

Step 3: now arrange the niches into best earning one.

Step 4: Now is the time to search a good domain, you know your niche well so it will be easy, if your target is your country buy country TLD else prefer .com > .net

Step: proceed with building the website.

Thanks for the response @psharma. I see now things are "slightly" moving towards where I want them.

The reason of this thread is "not" to get to know about what "I am good at" or what and where to register domains. The sole purpose of my post was to gain knowledge about:

1. different niches where I can work (it can be anything as I have resources to get things done in any niche)
2. niches that can bring me some smart income (I don't care if the income is fast or slow---but the niche should be competitive and fruitful)
3. in accordance with the niche, what type of domain name should I buy (I am not talking about extensions here, I am talking about the type of domain like with nichekeyword.com or something like that)

Hope to get some relevant replies.

 

I will suggest you to go for .com, the benefit is that its global.

You need to first sort it out what are you going to do after purchasing these domains. Domains really help you when google crawls your URL. Instead of buying 5 or 6 domains. Plan out things what you want to do. Stick to 1 or 2 domains only. Devote some time to them and then you can make some $$$ out of them....Thats for sure.
