They are equal and would be viewed the same in search engines, however with the hypen would recieve more type-in\direct traffic then the hypenated version.

Both of them are equally powerfull as if someone else with another name is targeting the same keyword and giving his website with other name backlinks then the name dosen't matter so choose any name , what matters is contents and the keyword u are targeting.

Without hyphen domains are the best according to SEO point of view.

Yes most people would prefer the version without the hyphen. A lot of times people settle for a hyphenated domain when the unhyphenated version is not available. Both should be good for seo though. Either way the search engines will see your keywords in the domain.

From personal experience, I don't agree. I was trying to think of a way to test it conclusively, but can't think of one that be 100% fair. I was thinking to register word1-word2.com and word1word2.com and give both links from the same websites, but with the same anchor texts I can't be sure google isn't discounting the 2nd link.

Linking from different sites, and one of the links is always going to be stronger in one way or another. Any ideas anyone? (sorry for taking this offtopic)

    Without hyphen is better.

But buy both and redirect the one with hyphen to the no-hyphen one.

Without the hyphen it may be easier for people who are referring to your website via word of mouth and always seems to work better in the long run.
