Need Help Identifying a Font

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by PalSys, Mar 12, 2007.

Can anyone identify the font used in this image for the text 'ATI' and any effects that may be in place? I'm trying to recreate that look exactly but I'm having troubles...

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah, it's very widely used on those types of sites. I'm looking for actual recognition though.

Is it the pixel text on the left? Or the whole white font (which is cut off)?

Just the pixel text on the far right.

I googled "Userbar font", because that font is commonly used on userbars.

That definitely looks like it, thanks very much! Last question: how can I achieve the black border/white text look that 'ATI' on the image has?

Well I use GIMP so I do it via.

Type what you want and make the text colour white
Then duplicate that layer and select the lower one.
Change the lower ones font colour to black
Then go Filters > Distorts > Value Propagate
When that window pops up, under mode, select "More Opaque".
Press ok and your done :)
