Hi, I made my homepage on publisher, when I click on publish to web in publisher, all that it does is turn it into an HTML file. I know my FTP password and username. I am not sure on how to get this html file from publisher to my website. I have been trying to do this for a very long time and nothing worked. When i go to my ftp site ftp://www.makefaststacks.info , and try to put the .html file from publisher on it (index.html), it dosn't work. Why? Why does this not work and what do I have to do to make it work. How to I turn a page in publisher into my homepage on my site? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I have never used publisher thank god, but you need to upload your html files to your web server. Download an ftp client like fileziller (Client Download) and then once installed enter your ftp details and upload your html files to your server. into (httpdocs) (www) folder
Free FTP software such as Filezilla or CoffeeCup are good simple tools for FTP access. Alternatively, you can use an online FTP client such as net2ftp (dot com)
I am trying to transfer files from another server to mine. I have Windows 98 and I have purchased a package containing Boom FTP32. I am still not able to transfer this web site. I am a webmaster with my very first client solo. Please help me to do this as soon as possible? Can this system do that for me? Please help, I am very frustrated.
First of all, Publisher was built to make desktop apps, not web pages. Example of a web page only viewable in IE because they made it in Publisher: http://www.vanleeuwenglas.nl looks lovely in Opera or Firefox or Safari or Chrome, doesn't it? VML for teh win! Second, maybe your file is uploaded, but how do you know if your hoster has is set up that www.makefaststacks.info will send the user to www.makefaststacks.info/index.html? That needs to be set up on the server if the host didn't do that already. Do you have permissions? Dude, how have you been testing your pages on all the modern browsers? Just wondering.
