I have several software and eProducts that are looking for affiliates, can anyone share what is the best way to start recruiting affiliates? I can give upto 40% for each sales.
If you have product which can be delivered electronically you can use clickbank network of affiliates. The advantage is that you can quickly get some affiliates and in my opinion if you offer 40 % commission you can impress a lot of them. If you from some reason don't want to use affiliate network and run your own program you can try to add your offer to the directories of affiliate programs. If your program pays in 2 tiers, most webmasters of these directories will be happy to add your program.
Hi, Thanks for all the reply. webhostingtoplist - do you have a small list of directory of affiliate program? I am interested to post my products. My products do offer 5% for sales by downline (I hope 5% is good...) sueecssnewyork - there are 33 products at this moment. Affiliates are free to promote some or all of it for commission upto 50% PLUS 5% on all sales by downline I have created a special group for Digital Point Forum users, and will be starting a newsletter to discuss about individual products. Here is the Link to Look at All 33 Products and Signup
I am sorry I don't maintain list of these affiliate directories. I always use google when I need them. But it is very easy to find a lot of them. Try http://www.google.com/search?num=20&hl=cs&newwindow=1&q=affiliate+directory&btnG=Hledat&lr=
Great article by the way, I appreciate that. I'm launching a membership content site this weekend and your tips help a lot.
Hi forgetmenot, Sorry I meant to reply to this thread sooner. I do affiliate program PR for a living so here are some ideas. Some affiliate forums allow free or paid program announcements you just need to find the ones that do. Search for "affiliate forums" on Google. Some allow a new program announcement and others don't. I mod several affiliate forums and a couple do allow blatant new program ads. Read the rules, some you have to have a certain # of posts, one you have to pay for some don't allow even a sig, it just depends on the forum. (My 5 Star Forum in my sig allows new program announcements.) Submit to #2-10 of the affiliate directories here: http://www.google.com/Top/Computers...ffiliate_Programs/Resources/Directories/?il=1 (#1 is not a directory, # 7 is me and my directory is only open to my clients.) Then also you can search Google to find top sites that sell similar products and do a short VERY personalized invite to join yours. I don't do ANY email recruiting because it's tricky and some affiliates consider it SPAM. I know companies that will do the email recruiting I could refer you to though. I also know of software that helps make the job much easier. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Hi, Thanks for it. All the products are relatively new so I will need more help. Anyway, I hope you can point me to the right direction for email recruiting, software, etc. I am starting up and wish to see some little result to motivate myself to go on. Thanks!
Hi, To make a lot of profit from the sales your affiliates make, you don't necessarily need a lot of affiliates, but some "super" affiliates. These are people with a large opt-in list of their customers who trust them and their recommendations. So if they promote your product to their list even just once, you'll make a LOT of sales overnight. So instead of trying hard to get as many affiliates as possible, I recommend you focus on getting super affiliates. You can find their website via search engines and send them a personalized email and explain how they and their customers will benefit if they promote your product. If they have a BIG list, you might want to send them a free copy of your product to show them how valuable it is. If your product is really good, they would love to sell it. If your products are about Internet marketing, you can also use JVGold.com or other similar websites to find great super affiliates.
I second what WebHostingTopList said. To start off ClickBank is probably the cheapest way to go, and they have some solid affiliates in the network who can move a lot of product for you...This'll cost you $50 to get everything set up...Even if you get one or two good affiliates from this you'll more than recoup your investment...You might consider making private offers to potential super-affiliates...maybe even up to 70%+...to get them motivated ($$$'s always work). You want to work on volum if your product is any good. Definitely a second tier is a good idea for this sort of product...Probably won't see much action in the short to mid term though... Also, check out Share A Sale too...This network run by Brian Littleton is good and also has some good affiliates...Plus it's cheap...You'll pay 30% of affiliates commission plus i believe a set up fee... If you've got any questions about affiliate management, please PM me or drop me an email...I'd be more than happy to give you some pointers...
Thanks for the great list of affiliate directories and the advice on what is important for a successful program. I have submitted my program to the free affiliate directories and offered backlinks when requested. A few of the directories charge for inclusion. For example, affiliate-programs-guide.com/ charges $99 per month to be included. I have stayed away for paying for inclusion on most regular directories in my efforts to build backlinks. However I would consider it if it would boost my affiliate program. Does anyone have any experience with paid affiliate directory listings? Thanks in advance for any advice.
