You can either remove that website completely or make it unfollow by using this tag rel="nofollow"

Let it be there for some time and after some days analyze your site. Is there any effect on your website ranking or PR?

He will get awesome link juice if the URL is on homepage and if it is DOFOLLOW. It is good if you want to keep the link but I personally suggest you to make it "unfollow" as there is nothing you can be benefited by providing back-links to others.

There will not be any ranking in placing others URL on your Homepage. Your website will only be ranked if its URL is placed on others blog NOT others URL on our homepage.

There is nothing wrong in it, most web designing companies use it for their website promotion.

If you are not in web design/seo field then it won't affect your business.

But,if you are in web design field better to remove it why promote someone else business?

If you have paid for the designer's work then you don't need to pay again with a homepage link.

Links on your website outbound don't matter. That's going to help your designer.

If it bothers you, get rid of it...

As far as I'm concerned and from an SEO perspective, I wouldn't want my site pointing (backlink) to any other site on the net, whether it be the same niche or not.

I want 1,000,000 other sites though, pointing (backlinks) to mine. :)

Yes. Someone once advised me that I should ONLY create outbound links to sites that have guest posted for me. That's the only reason you should promote someone else. Otherwise, it's just an exit point for visitors.

Dude, there is no link between do-follow and traffic. Dofollow helps you gain authority, ranking and link juice. Nothing more than that.

You should remove it, no benefit you would get from the link, and your link juice would be shared with that..
