Need Help for optimizing Apache2

    Hello all :)
    I'm french and i have some problem with apache2.
    I have a dedicated server with :
    2 * Quad core L5410
    4Gb ram
    I host just one website.
    And it's lag !!! Very Very lag !
    I don't undersand, i test a top and :
    load average 0.42
    I have some proc of apache started.
    Please can you help me to optimizing apache ?

    TOP should give you already many information. Having a LA of 0.42 with only one website is not a good sign, unless its a high traffic site.

    Well since his LA can be as high as 8.0 without any processes that have to wait I don't thinks this is the problem :)

    Hi @n0n!M3,

    What flavor of linux are you running? Is this a fresh OS and only httpd service is needed? You can find some valuable info by running

    as root...
    ps aux

    and you might also want to check what daemons start automatically at boot.

    chkconfig --list

    Be careful to what you want disabled/enabled. But if you have services like vsftpd enabled but are not using ftp then you can optimize your server by disabling it.

    Let us know what you come up with.
