    Hi everyone,

I am a student here in Montreal. My family owns a garment factory back in my country. Lately, i have taken a close look at the family business and it happens to deal with canadian importer/distributors. Few supplier here in Montreal order for companies like Rona, STM, and few other large corporations and make their uniforms like t-shirts, polos, shirts etc. by us. I will finish my last semester this month. Therefore, I would like to know if anyone could guide/help me in how to get startef and ESPECIALLY with the marketing plan. So overall i want to get my import license and directly sell the products to end users or large companies. How do i start marketing plan to get the clients?

Thanks in advance for your help friends!

Marketing plans are very specific to your target market and industry, so it's tough to give you specifics. I'll recommend though that you just don't come up with a list of tactics. You need to think about your business goals first and foremost and then decide upon an overall strategy. THEN come up with the tactics that fit. Don't just do tactics for tactics sake, you'll waste a lot of time. Study up on who you are trying to persuade.

At the top of this forum you will notice a red bar that has several menu items, the first of which is 'Users CP' - this stands for user control panel. So what I want you to do is count over 7 menu items from 'Users CP' and you will see a menu item entitled 'Search'. Click on this and it will give you an input box. This is where you can find the information you need. I'de suggest starting with 'Marketing Plan'.

Okay, so after you have done that for a while and at least have a vague idea of how to execute your plan then you should come back and ask for help.

    Good luck with your studies!

You have two ways before you. General Marketing in real life without internet and online marketing. I suggest you to engage in online marketing. Because of the advanced technology online marketing becomes easier and potential for the marketeers. If your plan is to engage is online marketing just have a look at the page first -

Start a campaign for online marketing. Make it effective. Budget some money for it, some potential time for it. Advertising, marketing, branding is quite than anytime before.

it is important to find areas to advertise where the market is not currently saturated. It is not good to put adds up for clothes on a cooking website but putting up ads where yours needs to compete with 15 other clothing ads is ineffective as well.
