Need help for changing hosting for my directory

A while back i purchased a directory from a DP member, since the beginning of the transaction there has been a major miscommunication.
The directory is still on the originals hosting provider which i have no access to.

I have all the files for the directory and I'd like to change hosting so i can monitor the traffic.

What is the easiest way for me to do this?

    Thanks for your help,
    Alvin

Well, If you have Cpanel access , copy it across to your new server using WHM, then just point the domain to the new IP, 5 minutes work.

you need to get access to the server then you can move the files. Without the files you have nothing.

vinny, you need to get access to the existing server to obtain a copy of the database. Without this, you effectively don't have the site.

If you already have a copy of the database with the files, then just upload the files to your server, install the database via phpMyAdmin. Check the config.php file and ensure the host, login and pass are correct for your MySQL server and your all set.

decide your new hosting service provider and get package as per need...
get into your existing cp ...copy all Database and site bkup...and upload it to your new hosting panel Install Database via php scripted Admin panel... set your profile and details as per your requirement and set your user pass for MYSQL.
Check the all installed file @ your new hosted place and then change NS entry.
    u r done.

No, you need to get a copy of the database. The files are pretty much useless without it unless you plan on starting the site from scratch with no data.

Your DB (database) contains all link details so without it if you upload other files to your new server there is no link (same as you are starting a new directory without any link in that).

If you have admin access to the directory you can backup your database from there.

Also you should probably transfer the domain to yourself
