    Hey everybody,

I got this dev site for Joomla that I'm thinking about selling. The question is how much can I expect to receive for a low traffic PR6 dev site? Would someone pay 300 - 500 hundred for it? ...'cause that's all I'm looking for. Any answers are welcome.

About 100 uniques a day and I haven't monetized the site, so it isn't making any money!

Anybody interested...I'll repost in the sales thread.

300 would be the minimum I'd take.

Thanks for answer. I'm fishing and that's exactly what I'm fishing for. :)

I would try to put AdSense on the site and then according to the earnings you could estimate its value. You would also get some possible buyers if you would show screenshots of the AdSense revenue.

According to prchecker.info and DNscoop.com it shows me it's PR3 currently.

    Good luck! :)

The PR doesn't have any value? The site would make about .50 - 2 dollars a day with its current traffic. I've tested it with Adsense, but that's something that the new owner could do. I guess Mambo/Joomla and PR have no value??

With that said, then this site would make about 15.00 - 60.00 a month (which it never did, btw) and would possibly have a value of about 150 - 700, based on yearly rev. Just guessing here...

    Thanks for your advice,
    Ray

Sounds good , but you need to put that theory into effect, to base a price on it...on the other hand, I think the PR and the possible link sales are worth a second look, that seems to be where any immediate revenue can be seen .
You can monetize it better, and ask for more money, with PR 6, and 3 years old, with a good number of pages indexed in MSN, which is hard and takes time, it would be worth more than $500 +.

If that was my niche', it would be worth buying, redeveloping, and monetizing, my way, with a PR 6 jump start.

If you take the amount of SEO hours and costs (If there are paid links), Hosting, and Development costs, Domain renewal (If any), and add it up to actual costs and man hours, I am sure $500 comes out to less than minimum wage in Guatemala for the same time period. Kind of an insult to anyone that knows how long it takes to get a site completely indexed in all 3 and get a PR 6.

If that is what the value of the web truly is, we are in the wrong business, or at least doing it wrong.

I agree. I really thought that 300 - 500 price was low. Too bad it isn't your niche. I might try the links and see how that turns out.

I really appreciate your advice and knowledge in this matter.

    Thanks,
    Ray
