    Hi people,

Need your help here. I have been offered to buy a hosting forum. The url si www.webhostforums.net.

    On the plus side:
    - Looks like it has 15200 indexed pages (indexed by googlebot)
    - pr5 home, some pr4 inside, a lot of pr3 inside
    - i have a few link buyers already

    On the minus side:
    - on the average just 300 uniques a day
    - just 18 active members

Another question is guys, what do you think should be a fair price for a sitewide link from a site like that. Is $40 a fair price?

But more importantly, what do you think would be a fair price to buy a site like that?

    Your advice would be appreciated

Pricing any business is tough, but let's look at one side of the cube.

If you are just looking for eyeballs, then at $0.15 per unique visitor this site is worth $16000 per year minus maintenance costs. However, if you don't have a way to convert the visitors that this site attracts into cash, then it is a total waste. If your idea of cashing in is to rent advertising, then you have to discount the $0.15 consdierably.

    Best regards

Do you know how much revenue the site currently generates?

well i was shown its adwords earnings - just $60-70 a month.

But the main selling point as i see could be selling links from that site. All the sites that bought links so far rank cool for their anchors which makes me think this site is quite good on hilltop.

Is $40 a month a fair price for this site?

Thanks to all of you guys who helped me here BTW!

Generally, when pricing a website, a reasonable offer would be 18 months worth of revenue (for this site, that would be about $1200), but of course many other factors should be assessed. Considering that the website only gets 300 unique visitors per day and has only 18 active members, I personally would not pay more than $800, for hosting forums are very common. On the other hand, if the forum has a very good domain name, forking up abit more money may be worth it.

A reasonable price for a sitewide link on this website would be anywhere from $25-40. The more you can get the better ;)
