I want to change this jpg gradient into a transparent gradient (png)....

So that when I place it in a white background I get the same result as the jpg...

Just get rid of the white background ( delete it ) and save as png-24.

Looks like that gradient came from a gradient site? If you don't have photoshop or anything, i'll be glad to make it transparent for you this afternoon when I get home. If you do have PS (or a similar program), just grab the hex # of that grey, and create a linear gradient that goes from grey to grey. On one side have the opacity set to 100%, and the other set to 0%. Save as a .png, and you should be good to go.
