    Dear DP Members,

I am looking for a free shopping cart that could fulfill the following requirements:

    • Sell up to 10 products
    • Support "clean urls"
    • Allow item options, eg. size
    • Accept Paypal / Google checkout
    • Easy to customize the look

I have been looking into prestashop, but have recently discovered the wp e-commerce plugin which seems as a nice alternative. Have you used any of these or have any other options to suggest?

    Thanks!

Magento has got some of the best reviews all around.
Try it. You 'll not regret your decision ever.

I personally likes sites that are developed in Magento and it has got some killer features with no price tag :)

I will suggest you VirtueMart on Joomla Platform. Both of them are FREE too.

Joomla is the best Opensource CMS in the world. Which gives you a great looking website. You can not only create Shopping store but can add many additional features to website.

Just search through Google which will confirm that I am correct.

If you search around on the forum you will find a whole raft of cart solutions reviewed and recommended.

Which you choose to go with depends on your requirements and experience really, personally i found magento tricky and lacking in user support (this was when it was fairly new, not recently i might add) so i went with oscommerce as it had a huge forum base, lots of addons that can be bolted on and a fairly easy php core that i could edit.

So in your example i would look around at the many solutions you can read about on this forum and choose one that fits your requirements and skill level to maintain/edit etc.

I would recommend you do what I have done, you build your website the way you want to then you use OSCommerce or any other shopping cart only to process the orders. I've found this to be the best way, but it does take quite a bit of work.

Magento may be a good choice for you but before start be sure your hosting company support magento. You may need a professional to make it work perfectly. Snce you have only 10 products so choose any like wp e-commerce plugin or other which will not consume too much memory. I love wordpress!

If you're looking to sell no less than 10 products then wp-ecommerce is your best bet.
