    I am making a blog...

The niche is something around free gaming membership, items etc.

I am not sure what the keyword for the domain should be... should it be related to a specific game or game currency/membership? e.g. free-xbox-live-gold.org

Or should it be in general e.g. gaming freebies

What would be a good keyword, please help.

Although having your main keyword(s) in your domain is your best option (especially for search engines)... it's not easy to find a good keyword-domain available these days.

I'd go for something brandable instead. And as an added bonus, it would be shorter than something like "free-game-memberships-and-freebies.com". ;)

Keep trademarks out of your domain name unless you want to risk being sued for infringement or having the domain taken in a UDRP action.

Depends on what you're trying to do. If you plan on promoting the site as a legitimate source for your niche, then I would pick something brand-able and easy to remember. If you're trying to rank for a specific keyword in the SERPS, having the keyword at the beginning of your domain helps a lot.

certainly agree with what zaedell said, try to pick your domain name according to your requirements.

having a keyword at the starting of domain name is not a bad option either.

I have TrulyFreeFun.com, .net, .org, and .info that I am not doing anything with. You can have one or all of those for reg fee if you want.
