This is not a new idea I have been to sites like this but I would like to find the best was for a non-techie like myself
to build this site. Any software I could buy that does this already?

Best community software out there that does this?

I would like to set up a community site that has member profile pages
integrated with a forum, chat, and private messages or pager.

The profile page would allow the users to upload photos and and maybe have a journal.

Each member page would have a guest book that other members could sign.

A page showing members currently online

Featured Member of the day with photo on the front page.

all features integrated... very stable and bug free (I can't fix server errors)

there are alot that you can try... such as mambo or geeklog... many you can try php.resourceindex.com or hotscripts.com and look for community / cms / forum scripts.

    :)

    good luck

    i would suggest geeklog.

Mambo, which Juls mentioned is worth trying as well, it's a CMS but has good integration modules for several forum packages (including vB, I think).

I just checked out Mambo it is really cool so I will take my time to read about the features and get vB to work with

Still I have not seen the member pages/profiles feature if it has one.
