    Hello All ,

So I got a dedicated server , I have no experience in setting it up . I made a Cpanel account in WHM but I have some problems in setting up my domains .

Usually in shared hosting , I only change the nameservers to that given by the hosting . Now what should I change the nameservers to ? or Will I have to do that in DNS record Management ?

    For example :

I have 1 site called example.com . It's the main domain in the Hosting . I have made it a cpanel account on WHM , Now what's next ?

Should I make A Records for ns1.example.com and ns2.example.com and send them to ip1 and ip2 ? I did that but it gave me a Parking page . So please somebody help me out .

    Thanks .

You host should provide dns servers to use, if they arent, you can create your own at the registrar where you registered your domain, then you can set your whm to use those newly created dns servers.

You can ask your host to register private DNS for you. Once created, you can simply point the domains to these custom domain names. It is almost same as Shared Hosting

As all other suggested your host should help you with this, if you are not getting help with this small issue from your host than thats something you need to consider before buying dedicated servers

You should ask your host for their NS if you want to use their NS, but since you have a dedicated server, its better to have own NS, which you can create in your domain registration account, depending where you have registered your domain you will find option to setup DNS entry, once DNS entry is setup go in your whm ad DNS record for them, and then use those NS in any domain you want

Did it solve the problem ? I have similar problem. My site is hosted locally by Windows server. My domain name is registered at name.com.

@toptreg , Hello . Yeah , I solved the problem .After you assign ips for your nameserves in WHM and after you make A records on the hosting for them , In your name.com control panel , select the domain then you'll find on your right "Register nameservers for this domains " , just put the ips given by the hosting and make ns1.yoursite.com and ns2.yoursite.com . After that , it should work .

Personally I would suggest use the hoster's dns server incase any problem on your own dedicated servers and actually you can save some resources for dns service.
