I am planning to host a SMF forum. So i wanted all the info about it?
Do i need any licence to run a SMF?
I downloaded a webinstall from SFM site and uploaded it but it does not work out.
So what i could do is install a SMF 1.0.9 version which my server supported and provided by default.
I have even downloaded the upgrade but how do i install the upgrade.
How can i change the theam of the forum?
Looking forward to knwing more about all this.

    sometimes webinstall won't work.

smf is free, download a free copy here.

if your website control panel has an auto installer,
see if smf is included and do it that way.

otherwise get a download and install it yourself.

    good luck...:D

Full install and upgrade instructions are included in the package I believe. Just follow the step by step details and all will be good.

go to smf downloads and get the upgrade

upload to your server via ftp and run upgrade.php

get the upgrade, not the update.

I gotta say SMF is good in part, but phpbb is more user friendly.
