Need help about Facebook messenger

    So i have facebook messenger installed on my android phone, but i do not have a facebook account and i use my phone number for it. Now, i have a few contacts on my phone but just about a half of them are appearing and i KNOW that at least 3-4 of those HAVE facebook messenger installed. So i tried writting their phone number in the add contact in the contacts section of the messenger but to no avail. And i KNOW that they have messenger installed. Hell i even talked to 1 of them since he contacted me but it still says that i can invite him to messenger. Can anyone help?

    Probably just a bug on facebook's end
    Given that facebook accounts are free why don't you have one?

    Yeah, u are not the 1st to say that. And yeah, i know i am inconsistent but that is just the way i am. I hate the whole of facebooks confusing and pretty lousy privacy settings as well as the terrible tagging system for photos. Messenger goes around that all and just allows for normal messeging without having new friend requests coming in every other day from people i dont even know. Call me stupid but i just feel this way. :)

    messenger and Facebook works together. If you want to add the contacts, you must have a Facebook account and the people you want to add their contacts must be your friends in Facebook. so if you dont want a Facebook account, you can try another type of messenger
