I have seen discussion on buying backlinks but I am still not sure if this works better than manually submitting to directories. Certainly it must be better than approaching good sites with decent PR because they most likely get a huge amount of request and my site is so new it does it's PR is still low so it is hard to get anyone to agree to giving me a backlink. I have experimented with buying links but am still skeptical of this. In general is this something good and were can I buy some at a decent price and be able to get backlinks to sites with decent page rank. Finaly why would anyone let a company sell backlinks to there site? Do they get some percentage of the sale?
www.blogsvertise.com I'm signing up for a bunch of those links today myself (as soon as I get client approval).
It works a lot better very lots of reasons. Generally, directories are pretty stagnent. They don't get updated very often and all they have are a bunch of outgoing links (almost like a link farm). Asking sites that haven't offered text link ads is one of the best links you can get because generally they don't have very many outgoing links. Those types of links are very powerful. I always recommend going through DMOZ and sifting through sites within your niche or related vertical and asking to see if they would sell you a text link. Most of the time they won't respond...but a phone call will usually garner a prompt response. They do get a percentage. Text Link Ads receives a %. Do text link ads work? Definitely. I've been using them for years and have many top rankings in competitive markets because of it.
I am curious how do links to other sites appear on your site using text link ads? Is it a similar service to Adbrite where you place a code on your site that automatically display links?
