    Hello,
    i have a forum at www.webmastershelp.com
which is pr 4 and has many backlinks, however they don't show in google.
also the indexed pages are months old!, the never get updated.

I have done some SEO work in the forum with robots.txt, the nofollow attribute, <h1> tags for forum and thread titles, etc.

nothing happens, not even with a sitemap the results were updated.
Also all the pages show as supplemental results.

Any ideas or tips on how to improve the seo of the site are really welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

A couple little things...google doesnt list all your backlinks, just a "sample", I guess you would say. For a more "accurate" check on them look at MSN.

You mentioned the indexed pages are months old. Have they been updated? If not, dont really worry. If so, try getting some deep links- into the middle of your site.

PR may or may not go up next time google updates it. Thats really not that important unless your goal is to sell links. Try to improve your rankings on terms and increase visitors. Honestly who cares about a stupid little green bar?

    Get links. Worry about income/visitors/SERPS.

Its because your forum is using session vars in the links. Look at the link to your top board webmastershelp.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 5facfa0a86490e49b9135fe9a249191f&f=9
, google like nice links with no long vars, look into how to propelly seo your board. Cheers.

    Nope, i didn't fixed anything.
Those session ids are suppoused to be disabled for SE bots.
    Thanks for your comments :).
I'll read a bit more about session ids in vbulletin.com and then let you know.

the fast change was because you'r already identified with a cookie so there is no need for ids to track your session.

I see, 1,280 pages indexed for a relatively new forum is not bad.
