Hi all, I am looking for some free articles for my IT directory. It's all about Information Technology. Any suggestion for this? I am currently using Free reprint articles online. But I am looking for more updated news articles. Thanks

You're doing the right thing, I think, getting articles from article directories.

Getting free articles from other article directories wont help much. Search engines will treat them as duplicate content. Try to write a few unique articles or hire a good writer.

Don't search engines treat duplicate sites as duplicate content, not duplicate articles?

The other route to go is buy cheap PLR articles and rewrite them a bit to make them unique.

As suggested its better to either write your own or find cheap writers, if you really want to go ahead with using articles already used then http://ezinearticles.com/

Maybe you could find some sort of balance, like 70% original articles and 30% from elsewhere that are not original, that wouldn't be as bad i think.

This is one of those areas where I think folks are missing the point. The point of having articles on a directory is to assist with on-page content for the search engines to find. The articles should be designed to help achieve greater keyword density and get individual pages indexed which ideally will bring more traffic to the site.

Getting the same article that dozens of other people have already used, and is quite often painful to read, does very little towards achieving the original goal. Nor, would I think an RSS feed about current world events do much for say an Arts category other than provide new material for the page.

In a recent thread on how to promote a directory someone mentioned that folks should look at how a particular site is run. I looked. Some categories had nice long articles. Well, they were nice until you actually took the time to read them - they were total drivel. The rest of the categories had the same exact paragraph with the only change being the category, i.e. "In this, the Arts Category, you will find wonderful sites dedicated to the Arts..." Again, nothing worthy of being read and an obvious ploy at getting content without actually presenting something of value.

My advice, do it right or don't bother. You will only make your site look ridiculous. If your focus is technology sites, your customers and visitors (if you have any) will be very familiar with the free article sites and will not be impressed when they see the same keyword-stuffed, useless article they've already seen on a dozen other sites or might even have used on their own.

Hey Man, Thanks a lot for your suggestion. I will try to write my own articles. The reason I was thinking the free articles is to save time. I do not have too much to spend on this site. But I will definitely take your advise. Thanks
