    Hi

I need something fast and reliable.Like Hostgator / LunarPages but with less resources. It must have the possibility to pay monthly. These are my requirements :

    Bandwith limit > 50 GB
    Disc Space > 10 GB
    Unlimited MySQL databases
    Unlimited Addon domains

Do you know such a hosting provider ?

    Thanks

Don't go for an overseller like HostGator - what they offer you is impossible to provide (for the money being paid).

For your budget, $20 per month is probably a reasonable expectation for hosting costs. Maybe a bit more due to the disk space necessary.

When you pay monthly instead of yearly the cost goes up. Also with some hosts if you pay monthly there is a one time setup fee. So what is your monthly budget?

do you already have a host? or are you trying to switch because it couldn't connect?

check the configurations file along with the mysql login details, it could be a problem - a few weeks ago I had a client who was getting the same type of problem during installation and then when i looked, he didn't put the password correctly, since it is case sensitive

I would also recommend contacting SMF if it isn't a server related issue.

Just login to your control panel and check Service (Server) Status (if available) and check if MySql is UP or not. If you see the service online and still get that error, you can check your configuration file.

Your requirement is 10GB Disk Space. Do you want to host any big files in your hosting account? Most of the sites don't require more than 500MB space (on an average). It would be better if you can give a short description on your site as well as its traffic.

Your current host has a limit on Max MySQL connections, which you are exceeding, & thus getting Unable to connect.
Too many MySQL connections will cause high loads (Mysql is CPU hungry).
You can ask your host to allow more MySQL connections, or get a small VPS, if the allowed connections are already high.
How many users do you have online at a time, when this problem starts occurring ?

Somewhere 10 active users when this is happening ...
I know that MySQL is CPU hungry but only 10 active users, this is ridiculous.
I talked with them and they told me to search for the problem in the script, script is SMF forum downloaded from SMF site :D

Even I used lacehost for few months but as my websites expanded I faced the same problem as yours.
I then shifted to iwhic hosting temporarily and used their service for one month without any problem
Currently I am on a VPS plan from clandrive. They have some cheap plans
