    We are working for a startup which wants to create a site with the objective of a traffic of 100,000 users every day. (this will increase further)

    It's going to be a media site with text, images and videos.

    The team has thought to use the wordpress cms on a good hosting service provider. Want to understand if this is the right approach ?

    Is wordpress a good cms to use for a site with such traffic ?
    What kind of hosting service should be taken ?

    There's this site in India - indianexpress(dot)com - it uses wordpress as it's CMS. Are they using a customized theme ?

    Being a startup there are spending limitations and hence the discussion to find the right kind of solution

    Need expert advice on the matter.

    Hi Aspire,

    I have check the website indianexpress(dot)com. They are using their Own Template and the site is hosted directly on the WordPress.com's premium WordPress Hosting.

    Wordpress is always top cms. We need to optimize it properly.

    Start with a Cloud VPS is the best choice.

    Avoid the readymade themes because all popular magazine themes are have lots of JS and CSS files which is unwanted for our use. It will take more resource to load.
