I am new to ecommerce and need some advise on my site. The store is running for about 2 months now, but very little traffic and no sales yet. I tried fb and instagram marketing/adds, but no success. I would love to get some expert reviews for my site. I am ready and willing to learn, and determined to make a success of my store. Please help me? Any type of mentorship will also be appreciated. https://www.mtbsafeprotect.com
I did wonder where I was going with the domain name - and damn, I'm meant to have sorted out lights for my roadbike today! Shipping from SA to NZ would take more than 8 hours, right? I don't know what the bike shop situation is like in SA but over here the shops are getting bigger but there are less of them. People are buying accessories online but they're either going to the big UK stores (price & quality), ali express (so cheap it's worth the gamble) or buying online from local stores (guarantees, return policy). You are in an interesting situation. From the number of product lines I gather you are actually holding stock and not dropshipping. You need to increase the choice to get people's attention - or else spell out why they should be happy with a choice of one glove that doesn't even mention what size it is. It might be price (but I don't think so), or speed of delivery or something prestigious that's hard to get elsewhere. I'm guessing you don't want to stock up too much until you know you can move the product. To get more traffic, in this particular niche, you need to get some serious promotion going on. I'd be looking at videos about mountain biking: in your region your "sponsored riders" even if that is just you paying for the gas to take your mates out riding extreme riding safety skills on the trail repairs You basically need to be an entertainment channel supported by a shop
Hi Sarah Thank you for the reply. I am located in SA yes, but my target market is USA. I only use USA suppliers to provide the best (speediest) delivery times. I will definitely follow your advise and add more products as well as more promotion. Hopefully it will help to get more traffic and maybe my first sale. Otherwise, I think I might have chosen the wrong niche.
Whatever niche you choose it needs to be one that you are passionate about and have considerable knowledge about. If you are targeting the US then I hope like hell that you've done a thorough competitor analysis to combat ebay, amazon and the specialist online bike stores. Find the crack in the market that they've missed and go for it.
