need email marketing help please...

Do not hope to get high conventions from one blast. It should be ongoing process. Make it as a newsletter and provide people with good information related to your topic. You need to prepare your readers, set their mood with some positive content and keywords before you will try to sell something or make them click that link.

As far as subject line, nobody has the right answer for you. Many variables involved such as demographics of your subscribers in the list, timing - when you email the newsletter, day of the week, format - html or text etc.

Sometimes, you change one word in the subject line and your opening rate will go up or down 10-20% including your click troughs. My advice to you is to track every click and do a split testing regardless of your email list size. I use Aweber, but it is a bit pricy when you have a large list.

Again, test, test, and test again.

Are you able to split the mailing into multiple mailers as Vladt mentioned?
Often one will test several versions of mailers to small groups before deciding upon one version for a full send.

You might try talking to them as if they were a friend and you were asking for assistance as I believe you are trying to do.

One important thing I have found is to personalize the mailer using their name when possible.
So it might start off,

Hello John,
I just finished my new web traffic course and I could use your honest feedback. My web site is in the early pre-launch stage and I am currently gathering valued feedback from consumers such as yourself to include in my site. If you would kindly spare 5 minutes of your time to review my course and then reply to this email or call me with your feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

I think the most important things to do is to send a welcome msg to your subscribers, convince them to whitelist your email and give them a free report or tips. After that you can start sending them email... this is the right way to do email marketing..
