    1. Stop waste your money - forget about php scripts, paid hosting, domain names.
    2. You can start to sell online for free. If you can make money online using free resources, after you can start a paid project.
    3. To start your free e-commerce site:
    - register on Weebly (or Tumblr)
    - add an online store for Amazon Associates - live sample: apiwidgets.weebly.com/indian-store.html
    - promote this store via social websites (Facebook, Tweeter, Google+)

    Plus:
    - You can start unlimited online stores
    - You can run different amazon locales (US, UK, CA, IN)

    Good luck...

You need to find managed web hosting service provider. They can help you to setup Ecommerce website. You can start with Linux hosting plans and install WordPress. It is an user friendly CMS system.

I would recommend php scratch code.

You can go for ready cart available on the web like magneto, but the only problem you might face is at the time of major Altrations on the coading part you will get stuck.

So ph would be the best option to go with.

If you feel I can help you to built it feel free to PM me

    Hmm,

Tough question, my opinion is to act on the basic first before progressing. Let's start with Woo-commerce to get familiarize first.

    Good Day,

Choosing PHP for website development is considered to be a best among the other choices. PHP is simple and robust to develop a website with ultimate features and possibilities to build the website easily. Also its simple and cost effective to start website with php based ready made script,so that you can launch your website quickly.

Woocommerce is surprisingly good and very easy to set up. It is also free, although you may need to buy some addon modules depending upon your needs.

If you are just experimenting consider the programming cost, consider cost for the opensource, hosting solution cost and other expenses, my recommendation is an online a PHP-based platform online e-commerce solution like OpenCart.

Depending on your skills but i would recommend php over asp.net anytime. Much more flexible and easier to use in my opinion.
OpenCart or osCommerse are my choices for starters. Easy to set-up on a standard shared hosting account and runs very well unless you grow big and your database gets large enough so the shared host won't handle the requests properly. But then you upgrade to a VPS and you continue sailing. Magento is trickier to set and needs hefty customization. Also - it is resource hungry but it is very stable for large stores.
Go to an eCommerce web hosting specialist, they will help you get started. These guys have all the platforms at a great price and a eCommerce site builder with a theme selector.
    Good luck with selling online.

PHP can be good because it is open source and most populer server scripting language. PHP code is inserted directly into HTML so this helps you to make your site up. It is also good on security bases, it use verity of liabrearies such as XML, graphics , encription etc. If you want some e-commerce site then you can try StoreSprite, Afcommerce, Magento, OsCommerce, Zen Cart, WordPress.

you should try custom ecommerce script other then ready made modules. By this you can add new features anytime in future or change the existing one also. you can find the cheepest one with Uniquescriptz.com or just follow the link http://www.uniquescriptz.com/ecommerce-script/

This is developed in php and you can modify that easily if required. or can hire freelancer to modify that in future.
