After the discussions in the other thread, I decided to do a search on word DMOZ and porn in Google.

    http://www.google.com/search?q=dmoz+porn&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-47,GGLD:en&start=10&sa=N

On the second page of result this catch my eye:

    Traffic resources

Ladyx is specifically targeted to DMOZ sites, share some DMOZ traffic

after clicking on the link , it takes you to this page

    www(.)webmasterland(.)com/pages/Traffic_resources_Link_lists(.)php

    which has the following text:

    Lady X Adult Links

Want DMOZ traffic? LadyX is specifically targetted to DMOZ sites. Share some DMOZ traffic by submitting here.

As I could see on their site, this site is only selling webcam sex, phone sex and has different affiliate links but some how it deserves 5 listing in DMOZ :

    search(.)dmoz(.)org/cgi-bin/search?search=ladyx&all=yes&cs=UTF-8&cat=Adult

As we all know DMOZ does not generate that much traffic and it is only used for having back links, so it makes me wonder, how many other listings do they have that it makes DMOZ traffic a selling argument for them?

Anyway, if you can not list your serious business in DMOZ, you always can try to contact them.

I think it is important for the listings in DMOZ to be looked at by following the links on the sites in the directory to see just where they lead.

There should be a quality control factor for sure, as far as editors selling traffic or links, if found they should be fired!

    Seems OK to me.

    Look at ladyx(.)com/webmasters/dmoz/frameset.html
it gives information, do's and don'ts (although outdated) about how to suggest a site to DMOZ.
And they state that they only will include sites that are also listed in DMOZ. Nothing wrong with that.

The 5 listings they have in DMOZ are all compliant with our guidelines.

As you know they suggest more than helping with DMOZ listing and they offer traffic. It seems they are friendly with DMOZ also and even have a link to resource-less zone. I think it is very obvious that this site is owned by an editor, would you like to tell us, who?
I am sure that you could not find anything wrong with these listings, have you ever discovered anything wrong?

Being friendly with DMOZ must be strange in your eyes, but it is something that happens a lot. :D

That is the first thing I checked.
And No, I won´t tell you if it is owned by an editor or if it is who this editor is.

Yes, and these sites have all been removed.

    You don't need to, I know. ;)

The problem with corruption is that it stinks so bad that everyone will notice the smell.

I may be wrong here tony but I don't think pagode was saying sites were removed as a result of gworld's suggestions. Nonetheless, gworld should be thanked for pointing us in the direction of potential corruption, which is something we can then investigate to be true or not; either way it's more productive than 'dmoz i$ krupt!' 'o no it iznt!'. Nice one pagode for checking it out.
