I need some honest feedback on a new site and a new product. Really need to know if the product makes sense to a neophyte visiting the site, if there's any info missing, if it's easy to follow, what is missing, are there too many menu items, does it look decent, and ???? - - please help. http://www.glowshield.com I'm going to get some professional help here shortly - - but need to get design and stuff together first. Thanks!!!
Not sure the language fits - 'do you love' 'make heads turn' 'express your passion.' Otherwise - well done.
I would make the "Order Now" link more visible. Bolder, top link, more than one place, etc. The product is obvious enough. You should offer a poster of the entire top picture with every order.
I think it's a great product but I think the site, as it is currently, is going to hinder your sales. Since you already have help on the way, let us know when the transformation is complete and then we can really tear it apart (J/K). Now you've got me thinking about how I could do something like this on my truck. Hmmmm.......
It's changed since last time I saw it a month ago I love custom cars and bikes so I think it's a great product. My personal preference is for fixed-width sites, so that you can get the layout fairly precise on all screen sizes, so I reckon a 760px 'page' would keep the layout tidy. Choice is yours though To me Harleys are classy machines so I'd try and follow that in the design and steer clear of the more primary colours. How about 'theming' the page and doing some artistic flourishes for a frame or page border like stitched leather and buckles and stuff. Your product has a WOW factor so don't let the site get away without it either. I know you're trying to get the glow to work but that can happen in the individual photos, the pages can still be cream or white or whatever. Really looking forward to seeing what you do with this one, keep me posted
The site needs to look more professional IMO. You have to think about your target audience too. "Express your freedom, your passion, yourself..." is only going to get the attentions of girlie men. Girlie men don't ride Harleys!!!
Harly riders dont care so much about super professional corporate looking sites either.... Yes, think about your targe audience. More pics of girls wth your products. Should be girls everywhere........ A good place to look for design ideas is the biker mags. Easy Rider has a half naked girl in almost every ad for a reason.
I like the images and impressions but overall it seems a bit ametuerish. I reccomend you make the most of HTML's tables features.
Thanks for all the great advice! Some very good ideas...I'll definitely change the scroll wording right away. I like the leather stitch idea. Mopacfan - - we did a custom bug shield for a truck once?!? Notice you don't have one but perhaps we could work something out??? Any more thoughts....?
I think your website is SEXY! Harleys are SEXY! I agree with XML that some of the language should be changed to appeal to Harley rider types. Check out some bike magazines for ideas. Good luck with your website! Cordially,
You could play more on the sexy woman image - that is she and yours go together with a HarleyDavidson. That is take the woman at the top and put her with the bike in the middle with your screen - that way the eyes will focus only in the middle....won't they?
Gosh... I think this will turn into a porn site if I keep following this type of advice (I love it!). Thanks
My thoughts are purely my own and do not agree with thoughts express above. You are selling windshields yet you can not even see an windshield in top image. Shannon
Why do you think they adorn cars with women at car shows? I may not be "politically correct" and endear the womens lib but it sure as hell sells.
Girls are good, but bikini models don't fit. Last model I saw riding her Harley was decked in leather, very sexy. Background contrast is hard on the eyes. More pics of the sport/lifestyle. Toughen it up a bit, that's the image.
How about a leather bikini? Tough... but't' sexy? I've got an image developing in my mind for the layout. Thanks for the feedback.
I don't mean to be rude so don't take this as an insult. I would never buy anything from an unprofessional looking website for one. Second, I would not buy anything from dark color websites unless it is ABC or CNN and such. Been there done that. And finally, no matter what you sell it needs to be in good taste and sites with products like yours are the ones in most need of professionalism. Your site lacks any sort of professionalism. I am an Objectivist so I say what I think which does not mean it is meant to insult. If you want to understand me read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand Max
I read her works years ago and went on a pilgrimage telling the world. Then, I read other works and took other classes. Rand was an amazing fiction author, but I'm sure in the future you'll discover that their are broader more enlightening philosophies and that there is no need to hide behind a book when stating your opinion. Back to the site.... thanks for the comments. I realize the site lacks professionalism which is why I'm planning on redesigning it and having someone else build it. I built something fast just to get feedback and work on the design. Now....now the real work begins because I've only sold 2 on-line and need something good. Dark colored web site? I think many Harley sites are like this and they seem to sell a lot. I think it works when they are done right.
I am an old man buddy, I am not a young punk. I am sure I have read more books on philosophy than most people and even wrote a few books myself Max
